Nothing too exciting to report

The craziness of life seems to be slowing down. We have racked our brains to come up with something as comical as the past few blogs but can't seem to recall. Just a quick report on everyone:

Kennedy- still having fun in 2nd grade. She is having a lot of fun with her new friends and has a twin. She is so excited that there is another girl named Kennedy in her class. She still continues to love to read books. She is also looking forward to her next birthday in one month. She is excited about getting baptized. She is also anxious to ditch the booster seat.

Gracie- 1st grade is going well and she has still managed to trick her teacher into thinking she is a good, quiet, attentive student. Just kidding, but she has really done well and doesn't get in trouble for being toooo busy as most of us know her to be. She has had a problem keeping friends in our complex. It seems she gets a really good friend that lives here and they seem to move. She is also anxious to ditch the booster seat but at her weight we may have another 10-12 years. This should make for an interesting first date!

Molly- She is still the Molly we all love. As I type at 1 hr past bedtime we hear the footsteps running back and forth upstairs. The newest fascination is to line up 10-1000 bathroom sized paper cups and fill them with water, soap, or whatever else she can find and quickly run to bed when she hears us walking up the stairs. Molly is trying to live up to the terrible two's by refusing to share and believing everything her sisters own is actually her property and they have no right to even look at it.

Shikay- My most funny story I guess would be the fight I got into tonight. It was me vs Kevin's car (yes, it is still running). The door handle is broken so you have to roll down the window and I was trying to get out quickly due to an overstretched bladder. I was trying to unlock the door and bam someone hit me. It was my own fist in my nose! How can I do that you ask, remember I have the track record for burning my own eyeball. Luckily I didn't break my nose, how would I explain that and I also was able to get away without peeing my pants. Other than that, not much else exciting to report. I continue to keep the kids going to school and our door seems to be open to EVERY neighborhood kid. They all come here because their parents let them run wild but I am the mean parent that wont let my kids run around without me outside with them so they all come to our house to hang out. We get anywhere from 1-7 kids at any given time. The house is crazy but the kids are having a great time.

Kevin- Still working as a PA. He has recently finished all of the paperwork part of actually starting to work getting his licenses. His credentialing was completed today by the U and is now waiting for the hospital to finish his credentialing on their side which was also supposed to be done today. He will start seeing his own patients and getting more of a routine soon. He doesn't quite know what to do with free time.

Well, I guess that is all for now. We will post again soon, or hopefully around Halloween so we can show off our witch, mermaid and elephant. Hope everyone is doing well.

More great news (some sarcasm, some real)

For the latest update on our adventures..... I recently discovered I hit a pothole or something which has caused a large bruise in our tire and lost a wheel cover. So really how much does a plastic wheel cover cost? Try $70, is that not crazy. So now we have to go tomorrow and get the tire replaced and probably at least one other since they have recommended we change two. The story has stayed interesting as Kevin has insisted I hit a deer and Gracie seems to believe him. We have also chased down a few wheel covers only to discover they don't fit. What we mean is we have driven roads we frequently travel and quickly pull over at the site of a wheel cover. The first one looks like a cheap wal-mart wheel cover which is about 2 sizes too small for our van (we actually thought about using it until we replace the other as our van looks like the ghetto van right now with the missing wheel cover). Our kids won't let it go that we stole it. They insist we take it back and leave it on the sidewalk that we found it as the owner may be looking for it as we are looking for ours. The next wheel cover I was convinced was ours. I was going to meet Kevin for lunch and found a Toyota wheel cover that was an exact match, almost. Come to find out it too was one size too small for our van so we have "stolen" two wheel covers now and our children believe we have serious issues of theft. I guess we will probably give up and fork out the $70 but wont be happy about it.

Also, on less funny and less expensive note Kevin did pass his test today. They told him it would be two weeks for the results but the results were already available. He now has to turn in his licensing, controlled substance and DEA paperwork and wait for them to process them before he is a full blown PA.

I also had another scare with Gracie today as she was saying she had a short episode of chest pain. No, no syncope today and it resolved before she had to go to school. I don't think I can handle the drama. Kevin told the kids tonight they are to be extra careful as we are between health insurance coverage right now. He thought of wrapping them in toilet paper or gauze to keep them extra protected.
Well, I guess that is it for now. We hope you are all doing well. Enjoy these pictures, some old, some new.

The Move is Over

Well, we have officially moved back to Utah as a family. The move seemed to be going well with great support from friends and the Elders Quorum in Vegas, great timing getting to SLC and help waiting for us when we got here from family. Well, that sounds too easy so we got our 26 foot, fully loaded (7600 lbs) Penske moving truck stuck in the middle of Highway 89. Kevin's dad tried to pull the truck in the steep driveway of the complex that the manager recommended we use and the back end got buried in the asphalt. The police kindly responded to the 911 call asking for help and sat in their car and watched. Kevin asked them what they recommended he do and they kindly replied "get the truck out of the street". Boy do we feel good having such intelligent law enforcement with ideas we would have never thought of on our own. We had a few people who stopped and tried to help and others that tried their best to run us over. A very kind man stopped about 1 hour into this joyous event and offered to pull the truck backwards into the street with his large diesel truck and chain and he saved us from a very large towing company bill. The rest of the move was less eventful but quite a bit of work as we chose the townhome that is in the very middle of the complex that is not easily accessible from the parking lot. We did get moved in with minimal time though and got everything moved from Vegas on a Friday and Kevin back to Vegas on Sunday with our house pretty much in order.

The first week of living in Utah again for me and the girls was also crazy. Kevin was still in Las Vegas completing his schooling and all heck broke loose. We started the school year with Gracie passing out and having to go to the hospital to get a battery of tests and clearance with the opinion of anxiety getting the best of her. Kennedy felt like she had to throw up daily when she was getting ready for school and insisted she couldn't brush her teeth long or she would lose her breakfast. Did I mention we had yet another plumbing incident with a toilet gone crazy and a dishwasher that thought it would wash the floor too! Kennedy and Gracie will never flush another toilet in their lifetimes. We are starting to think of putting an outhouse in the back yard due to our luck with plumbing. Kennedy and Gracie started school at their new school and have enjoyed it so far. They have made new friends in the complex we live in and stay pretty busy between school and the insane number of wild children roaming the complex.

Since things aren't busy enough, I have started working on potty training Molly. Let's just say there have been easier tasks to complete in my life. She is doing good, just can't wait for the better. The family picture posted represents Molly's overall daily attitude.

Kevin is getting ready to start up at the U of U working at Primary Children's Medical Center on the 22nd. He is doing some days at the Guard until he starts his new job and will take his national certification exam on the 17th.

Kev, Shikay & Girls

Okay so I guess I will get with the times and start a family blog. Our family currently lives in Las Vegas and will be moving to Utah in three weeks from today Yea!! Kevin will graduate the PA program on Sept 4th and will begin working at Primary Children's Hospital in the pediatric specialty care clinic. He is really excited to start this new journey! The girls are getting so big I can't believe how time flies by. Kennedy will be turning 8 in November, Gracie is 6 And Molly is 2. It is so much fun to see their personalities coming together. Kennedy is the laid back one, she enjoys computer time, reading and being active outside. Gracie has a LITTLE more energy, she loves collecting bugs( especially the ones she knows mom doesn't like), she enjoys teasing her sisters and being outside. Molly is a lot like Gracie she is full of energy and really enjoys pretending to be a cat (she mostly just meows alot.) We are truly blessed as a family.
